They spray it in, it expands then they cut off the excess. It makes a big mess! The machine want working right so that made available even bigger mess!

We opted to use spray foam insulation instead of rolled in traditional fiberglass insulation. We used 2x4 exterior walls, spray foamed them and then spray foamed the ceiling of the attic, not the floor of the attic attic like is traditionally done. This is called cocooning the home. When finished the the attic will be about the same temperature as the rest if the home. This keeps the home from heating up as much in the summer and makes it more energy efficient than traditional insulation.

Once they cut off the excess they cleaned everything, bagged the garbage and threw it into the dumpster.
