January

 January was a great month!  I turned 30! Which doesn't bother me much because they say 30 is the new 20 so I'm just going to view this as reliving my 20's but with more experience, more knowledge and more kids!!  It's going to be great!!

Robert took me to a movie, I picked Les Miserables.  I enjoyed it, surprisingly Robert did too.  

The next week we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary!  9 YEARS!!  OH YEA!

A Sewing Weekend

I finished up a quilt this weekend...well, finished it as much as I can for now.

It is basted together just waiting to be quilted.  When I bought my new (to me) sewing machine it didn't come with as many presser feet as I use.  One that I lacked was a quilting foot.  For Christmas I received a lovely note from my parents informing me it was in the mail on its way to me!  Along with a walking foot too!!  I can't wait for them to come so I can try them out!

 I have been wanting to do a hexagon quilt, it was so easy and fast!  Love it!  Now...to quilt them all...

After sewing the quilts I was analyzing how I was going to quilt them when I realized my sewing machine didn't have a large enough sewing surface to easily quilt!  So I googled sewing machine extension tables...they sell for $100!  Next I googled DIY (Do It Yourself) sewing machine extension tables...and we had a winner!  I made a template, drew it up, planned it all out, Robert came home and made my idea become a reality!  He is AMAZING like that!  It is perfect and I can't wait to try it out!  (it is made out of an ikea cabinet door we had laying around and a 1 1/8 inch wide dowel cut into 3" long pieces screwed onto the bottom to make it level with my sewing machine.)

Happy New Year...Bring on 2013!

While I was waiting for Robert to come home from work on New Year's Eve I decided to get ready to go out, I did my hair, makeup, got dressed up...etc...

 Then Robert got home and was like...umm...why are you all dressed up, we aren't going anywhere!?!  I have to work in the morning!  I was a little disappointed.  So were are our boys.  I had told them we were going to a party to watch fireworks.  So when we didn't go they informed us they were going to stay up until tomorrow any way!  We put them to bed at their normal time, Robert and I watched a movie and when the movie was done the boys were still bouncing off the walls and watching out the window to spot any fireworks.

Robert quickly fell asleep after the movie and I was not tired so I went into join the boys...before long Robert stood in the doorway and said he would sleep on the couch so we could take the big bed!  The boys didn't hesitate!

I welcomed the new year by sneaking downstairs for cheerios and watching Arthur on Netflix for 2 hours with my two boys!  They were so excited they actually stayed up till midnight!      

James said, "This is the BEST night ever!"  I would say it was a successful new years party!
