Good bye Grandma

It was a lot of fun having Grandma in town. The kids had lots of fun playing with her and it was wonderful to see them all enjoying her visit!

She spoiled us all: Michael's birthday present, James and the girls got some new clothes and of course she watched the kids so Robert and I could go to Indy.

I can not believe that this boy is 8!  Time goes by far too quickly and some how in a blink of an eye he went from this:

 A bit of back story: we got home from Indy on his birthday so he was lucky enough to still have Grandma Biggs here for his birthday.  She spoiled him with all things Scouts!  He has been looking forward to scouts since the 8 year old preview night our church did in January!  So when he opened the presents from her he was very, very excited!

From us he got his first MP3 player.  He was very excited for that too!  (He has been carrying around a big discman and using up batteries like crazy so we decided it was time for an upgrade, and to save money on batteries!) 

Because I wasn't home in the morning to make a cake Grandma offered to take us all to Cold Stone.  We accepted!  Michael was very excited to pick ANY ice cream and ANY mix ins.

We love him so much!  He loves to help out and be the leader.  He is very inventive and nearly every day is coming up with a new way to become a millionaire!  Haha, I think that if he stays as determined and keeps coming up with all his great ideas, one will make him millions!

The day after his birthday was his first Pack Meeting!  He was very excited!

Ok, sure he doesn't look that excited but he really is...I promise!

Our Indy 500 Trip! Part 1 of 4

Robert won a trip through Firestone for a trip for two to the Indy 500!  

We had such a wonderful time!  Thanks again to Grandma Biggs who flew into take care of our munchkins while we were gone!

 Here we go, on our way to Atlanta, Georgia, and on to Indianapolis, Indiana.

Indy Trip Part 2 of 4

After the race track we had all afternoon to explore Indianapolis.  Not far from our hotel was the Indiana State Museum.  The museum had a Star Wars Exhibit so we decided to check it out.  We are glad we did, it was pretty cool.

The night before the race we had a fancy Banquet Dinner to attend.

Before the party the hotel delivered a "car" with checkered "flags" to our room.

Finally, the morning of the big race!

There were many buses going from the Marriott to the Racetrack all full of Firestone affiliated people.  We were on bus #8. 

Angela came for a visit!! YAY!

My (ahem, this is Brandy typing this) best friend since forever, Angela drove 10+ hours with her two kids to come and visit me!!  Yay!

Here are some highlights:

We hung out around the house, went swimming, got sick (not from swimming though!), we played with a massive amount of glow sticks, went shopping, which with Angela is always a blast! And had a great time, sickness and all!

I sure wish we lived closer so we didn't have to drive 10+ hours just to hang out.  But don't worry we make the most of every minute together...and then talk for hours when we aren't.  Love you girlie!! And your kiddos too!!
