Before the party the hotel delivered a "car" with checkered "flags" to our room.
At the party they served us a fancy dinner.
We watched some Firestone commercials and interesting things about racing.
The Director of Turbo and the actor Michael Pena (who does the voice of Tito in the movie Turbo), along with a big wig from Dreamworks came and showed some clips from the movie as well as a preview.
Mario Andretti made an appearance and told some interesting/funny stories: his wife went into labor one time while he was in the middle of a race! Told us a bit about what it is like to drive in the Indy 500 etc.
At the end they had a live band come perform and there was dancing. We were lucky enough to get a picture with Mario Andretti:
The center pieces on the table were go cart racing tires with Turbo the snail on top. (They were free for who ever wanted them when the night was over.) Robert was so excited to snag a tire! He was not the only manager making a bee-line for the elevators guarding their tire prize.
We also snagged a few Toys for the kids:
The two race cars Firestone gave us in our welcome bag (yes, they have tiny Turbos on them), the two smaller Snails we bought at the race track (they will be available in stores in June) and then the two large Snails were from the center pieces at the dinner.
Meanwhile back at home...
The kids were having tons of fun with Grandma Biggs (aka Brandy's mom). She was spoiling them with fun crafts, coloring with markers, new jump ropes, art stuff and SO MUCH MORE!!
I truly don't think they missed us at all!
