Labor Day Weekend 2012

Over Labor Day Weekend we went camping.  The forest was much more populated that we generally like but we found a great spot and had a fun relaxing time.  Here are some pictures:

The weather was so gorgeous, no rain, overcast, 70ish; perfect!

Chelsea got a new pack!  She doesn't like it.  I do.  Now she can carry around her own water and bowl when we go for walks and hikes.  It's great!

The kids had a great time picking wild flowers.

Shooting guns was allowed where we were.  We happened to camp near the perfect hill/side of the mountain so we didn't have to go far to get some target shooting in.  (We were not the only ones with a gun, you could hear many others.)

James shooting.

Katie shooting.

Me taking my turn.

Robert too.

Michael shot a lot too, but was also very excited that I had to put down the camera to go shoot...he and James took full advantage of the available camera.

Here are the kids picking up the empty shell casings.  To encourage them to pick them up we agreed to give them $0.01 per shell... James banked almost $5!

Counting (some of) the shells.

Back at camp we enjoyed sitting around the fire.  We cooked all our food in the fire this trip.  I like doing that much more than using our Coleman stove.

Michael loves silly pictures.

I always wanted to watch a movie in the woods...this is the biggest mobile screen we have that we can watch movies on...can you see it, there above the curtains?

There, now with the flash off you can, sort of... Yes, that is less than a 2" screen and the kids thought it was AWESOME to watch Cars 2!

 Here is Bessy.

The whole family:

Leaving the area we passed a field full of beautiful flowers, here is a huge dandelion that we found.

The family again.  Beautiful!
