So I've decided it takes a certain kind of crazy to sell your perfectly good house to move into a camping trailer with a family of 6, a dog and a bird!
Then to decide to get TEN fluffy chicks to live in a big box inside the trailer with you!
We are definitely living the crazy life right now!
This is what the trailer looks like mostly clean. Add 5 lbs of dirt, kids toys, miscellaneous tools, and a big box of chickens in the middle!
Behind the camera is another room with a queen size bed. Beyond is the bathroom then the kids room with bunk beds on the right and a dinette that turns into a bed on the left.
On the outside we have a bbq grill that we have been using almost daily, a dutch oven we are using a couple times a week and a fire pit that the kids wish we used more because we only use it a couple times per week. We finaly got a shade canopy, picnic table and some solar lanterns too. It's awesome.
Our dirty laundry has taken over the bathtub inside and we don't have hot water so we decided to build an outdoor shower and use it with a solar camping shower. It's not ideal but it works.
The good: we are enjoying less technology more family time, more hard work and more creativity.
Plus moments like this when the water truck driver has extra water and let's you pretend to be a fireman!

Funny that I haven't been on your blog forever and when I finally check it out you are doing exactly what we are considering ourselves. Buying land and living on a trailer while building our dream house. Are you hiring everything out or doing some of the work yourselves? Sean’s been researching it and thinking about hiring people himself instead of using a general contractor. It seems like a lot of work but worth the savings for us. Plus there are some thing we would just do ourselves. So much to think about.
Good luck! I can't wait to see the finished house!
